Ignorance & Oedipus

Ignorance has led to many Americans ignore, or be ignorant of, the truth about abortion. Americans know the truth about the killing of unborn children, yet they decide to stay silent and allow it to happen. Some people even promote it! Shockingly, some Americans deceitfully call their ideas "Pro-Choice," and think it is the mother's choice to decide if they want the baby or not. As of January 2013, 53% of Americans still support the decision made in the Roe v. Wade case. That is over half of America supporting the killing of a child. Also, in a case of a doctor murdering unborn children and their mother, the news stations of CBS, ABC, and NBC did not cover the story. These liberal news stations ignored the fact that an abortion clinic doctor purposefully conducted an abortion later than the safety laws state. They also ignored that fact that " he faces four counts of first-degree murder for allegedly killing babies who were born alive; and one count of third-degree murder for the death of Karnamaya Monger, a 41-year-old refugee who died in 2009 from a Demerol overdose administered to her at the Women's Medical Society abortion clinic that he owned and operated for 40 years in West Philadelphia" (Barnhart 1). These news organizations are supposed to tell an unbiased story, but in this case, their bias led them to not even publish the story. The media, and most of America, is ignoring the fact that abortions are dangerous and do, in fact, have repercussions. 53% of Americans think that abortion should stay legal, yet they don't even know that abortion results in the death of innocent children. People need to open their eyes and realize that abortion is the sanctioned murder of children. In Oedipus Rex, Oedipus was told by an oracle that he would kill his father and marry his mother; Oedipus ignored this. Eventually, he would fulfill the prophecy and bring ruin to his city. If America does not identify the genocide of unborn babies, the same could happen to this great nation. Americans are ignoring the mass murder of innocent children, and people are failing to see the problem with abortion.
